NFPA Research of high-rise fires has determined that there are 15,000 structure fires in high-rise buildings each year. The property damage is estimated to be $154 million.

As a building owner, property manger, building operator or an occupant you should be aware of the actions you can take to prevent fires. You are required to have an approved fire safety plan that assist in protecting occupants from fire. Each fire safety plan is unique to the building and ensures that the fire and life safety systems are tested and maintained and that the occupants understand the emergency procedures (this is called training and holding fully evacuation fire drills at least yearly).
